The aim of this project is to strengthen the innovation capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe and their contribution to the development of new technology based products and markets. The programme will help them outsource research, increase their research efforts, extend their networks, better exploit research results and acquire technological know how, bridging the gap between research and innovation.

This multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary project brings together several fields of expertise: RTD performers specialised in multi-physics modelling and simulation, microengineering, packaging and automation of equipment, paste manufacturers, precision placement manufacturers and end users in the packaging and assembly industries.

The realisation of a project with such a complex composition requires a suitable strategy.

An overview of our approach is shown in the figure on the left.

The created knowledge from the first 24 months of the project, will be disseminated to the partner associations. They will further disseminate the knowledge to their members and therefore improve the technological potential of small to medium sized companies in Europe.
